Shani Peters' "The Crown" and Sita Frederick's "Interactive Dance" at the Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling

Choreographer, Sita Frederick is drawing inspiration from our exhibit Txt: art, language, media, to create an interactive dance performance for young people to explore language, culture and movement. Fredrick is the artistic director of Areytos Performance Works. Based in Washington Heights, her performances have been hosted by venues at the University of Texas, Syracuse University, and Pregones Theater. Art making will be inspired by the performance. Shani Peters' "The Crown" - Show your regal self and create a crown for this new installation by artist Shani Peters, which opens July 16 in the Salon Gallery. Crown making will be on the plaza.
