"La Canción" at Harlem Stage
Repertorio Español broadens their programming to Latino communities in Harlem, thanks to Council Member Mark Levine and the New York City Council Cultural Immigrant initiative.
The Initiative was created two years ago and have been so successful that the Council continues to make funds available to 77 groups that are focused on the cultural history and traditions of immigrant communities in the five boroughs.
“The Arts play an important part of our cultural lives both here in Harlem and throughout New York City,” Mark Levine said. “I am happy to support ‘La Cancion’ at Harlem Stage through the Cultural Immigrant Initiative funding process, which empowers more New Yorkers and increases access to the arts in every neighborhood. Everyone in every corner of our city, regardless of their economic or ethnic background, is entitled to the world-class culture that makes our city great.”
