Harlem Meets La Habana 2018

A Special Artist Reception for HARLEM HAVANA 2018 with Latin Music Performances by Local and International Musicians Harlem Havana 2018 is an international exhibit featuring 30 intergenerational artists and photographers who honor the unique and storied history of two iconic and diverse communities -- Harlem and Havana. In an eclectic mix of styles and mediums each artist reveals the diverse legacies, the common bonds and humanity that connect us all. In Harlem/Havana 2018, artists celebrate Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Mexico and Harlem. Featured Artists include Diogenes Ballester, Tau Battice, Élan Cadiz, Paul Deo, Marcos Dimas, John Jennings and Stacy Robinson, Leslie Jimenez, Black Kirby, Max Samiento, Tanya Torres, Nitza Tufiño, Shawn Walker, Coronado Print Studio Artists: Manuel Acevedo, Pepe Coronado, Carlos Jesus Martinez Dominguez, Marquita Flowers, Leslie Jimenez, Rejyn Leys, Yelaine Rodriquez, and COCO144. Featured Cuban artists are Alazo (Alejandro Lazo), Choco (Eduardo Sálazar), Sandra Dooley, Gorría (Jorge Perugorría), Nicolás Lara, Clara Morera, Mederox (José Mederos Sigler), Mendive (Manuel Mendive), Olazábal (Santiago Olazábal Rodríguez) José Aguilera Vicente, and Elio Vilva. Harlem Havana 2018 is curated by Community Works' Barbara Horowitz and guest curator Élan Cadiz.
