DIA DE MUERTOS EN EL BARRIO explores the rich history and multi-sensory traditions of México’s beloved 3,000-year-old tradition commemorating loved ones who have passed away. This year, together with community partners La Marqueta, Public Markets NYC, Union Settlement and Uptown Grand Central, El Museo del Barrion presents a day of art-making workshops led by artist educators, live music and dance performances, and a community ofrenda (altar) designed by a local artist. It all happens in the heart of El Barrio at La Placita in La Marqueta.
