Commmon Threads: Honoring Refugees Through Style + Voice
Common Threads will bring together artists, philanthropists, and refugee activists to celebrate what we share through fashion, art, and storytelling. The Business Center for New Americans (BCNA) helps immigrants, refugees, women, and other New York City residents achieve economic self-sufficiency and wealth creation. BCNA does this through microloans and the on-going education and counseling clients to successfully establish and run small businesses, save money, and own homes. BCNA provides microfinancing to start and grow businesses, and offers a variety of classes, workshops, and extensive one-on-one consulting. BCNA staff assists clients with everything from the creation of a business plan, to obtaining the required licenses and permits to operate their business, to help with marketing and general business management.
